TRBO Coaches-

Great weekend in Corvallis and a strong showing from TRBO teams from the Eugene/Springfield area.  Remember to educate and train yourselves to be better coaches.  Just like you want your players to practice getting better on their own… take the time to get better on your own.  We have some great resources:
1)  Go to www.trbocoaching.org to see ideas.
2)  Take our training courses on either *Defense or *Efficient & Effective Practices and receive Free Gear for doing it.  We currently have a handful of coaches doing this.  That is awesome!  https://trbocoaching.wordpress.com/2015/07/17/educational-training/
3)  Request and sign up to receive a mentor.  Someone who will check in with your and stop by practices.  Just another person of support.  https://trbocoaching.wordpress.com/coaches-connecting-with-a-mentor/
4)  If you have another idea or suggestion of something you would like to do, training, etc.  Please let us know and we will see what we can do to make it happen!

Communication Form

Just a reminder that we want to support you as a coach when it comes to those awkward or confrontational conversations that occur with parents either in person, over the phone, email or text.

We ask that parents always speak to coaches with respect.   If they don’t, please let me know!

If you ever feel a conversation is escalating or you just want to get out of it… please simply say,
“There is a communication form TRBO provides online.  Go ahead and complete that and they will take care of your concerns. “

Walk Away or end it with that.
If they keep disrespecting you, let me know!

#1 reason coaches burn out is because of parents.  We don’t want that to be you!

We are here to support you and to navigate the waters with you.  We want your focus and attention to be on coaching the kids… TRBO, Michelle & your area liaison/director can coach the parents =)

School Area Newsletter

What I need from you by each Monday to be included in the Newsletter:

1) Picture of your team
2) How your team did over the weekend or in practices… not just wins and losses but growth & improvement needs to be praised.  If you want to give “props” to a player as well… maybe think about those who don’t necessarily score all the points.
3)  What is coming up for your team?  When is there next game/tourney?
4) Anything else you can think of… share it.
